With so much mention of the flipped classroom in recent years, I created this survey to gather your thoughts on this use of e-learning in the classroom. After reading the article 10 Pros and Cons of a Flipped Classroom published by the staff at TeachThought, click the link above to complete the survey.
One of the challenges for an online instructor is assessments. I have two areas of interest. First, how do other instructors minimize the opportunity for cheating on assessments? Second, in my area of instruction, accounting at a WI Tech school, we need to be assured that students can complete certain tasks at a minimum level of competency in a reasonable amount of time with NO reference material. Instructional areas that involve human health and safety have critical competency assessments, which can be a matter of life and death. How do other instructors see this type of assessment occurring in an online format, considering mechanics, logistics and the integrity of the assessment? Alternatively, do you think there are some assessments that still require some aspect of face to face interaction?
After reading the article 7 Assessment Challenges of Moving Your Course Online (and a Dozen+ Solutions), please click on the link above to complete the survey.
This quiz is designed to introduce a reading and enhance engagement. (It could also be used after reading if desired.) The article outlines a survey of high school students' attitudes toward plagiarism. Please take this quiz BEFORE reading the article (also linked below) by Kathy Slobogin of CNN. (If I name the article here it will give a predisposition.)
